"Mineral production will grow 5-8 per cent this year in volume terms. In value terms, production of major minerals (iron ore, bauxite, limestone, chromium and manganese) was about in excess of Rs 40,000 crore. This year this will be more as due to higher international prices," Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of a mining conference here.

Replying to a query, he said net exports of iron ore was 25 million tonne last year which was about 12.5 per cent of the total production.
