Shweta Mungremoneycontrol.comIn his second full-year Budget presented in the Parliament on Monday, the Finance Minister stated that the key focus areas of the government in FY17 will be on providing cooking gas subsidy for below poverty line families, improvement of social services and healthcare sectors and recapitalising of banks.
Highlighting that the government targets to double the income of farmers in 5 years, he announced an allocation of Rs 35,984 crore towards the farming sector.
The priority will be to provide additional resource to vulnerable sections in the rural area and improve the quality of life, Jaitley said.
He said the government will also pursue implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Bankruptcy code, adding they will also work towards providing statutory backing to Aadhaar scheme.
