GoM to meet on 28 April to discuss coal issues

A group of ministers (GoM) is likely to meet on 28 April 2012 to discuss various issues related to coal. GoM will discuss issues related to eight power projects which are delayed due to environment and forest clearances, reports CNBC-TV18.

A group of ministers (GoM) is likely to meet on 28 April 2012 to discuss various issues related to coal. GoM will discuss issues related to eight power projects which are delayed due to environment and forest clearances, reports CNBC-TV18.


Ministry of environment and forests is likely to present its report on Mahan and Chatrasal coal block which is allocated to Hindalco, Essar and Relpower.
Meanwhile, Attorney General's opinion was sought on utilisation of surplus coal by captive coal block allottees and it is likely that Attorney General may give his opinion in this meeting.
