RBI says credit up 24.42% on year to December 31

Indian banks' credit growth till December 31 was at 24.42% on year to Rs 37.63 lakh crore and that of deposits was 16.46% to Rs 49.71 lakh crore, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Wednesday.

Indian banks' credit growth till December 31 was at 24.42% on year to Rs 37.63 lakh crore and that of deposits was 16.46% to Rs 49.71 lakh crore, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Wednesday.


On a fortnightly basis, credit grew 3.39% and deposits 3.58%, according to data released by the RBI.

The central bank has projected credit growth of 20% and deposit expansion of 18% by end of March.
