Petronet LNG's second quarter earnings are expected to be subdued as the country's biggest liquefied natural gas importer continued to suffer on long term-spot LNG price anomalies during the quarter, feel analysts. It will announce quarterly earnings on October 19.
According to CNBC-TV18 poll, profit is seen falling 19 percent year-on-year to Rs 212.9 crore and revenue may decline 26 percent to Rs 8,158.5 crore in the quarter ended September 2015.
Operating profit (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) in Q2FY16 may drop 23 percent to Rs 397.3 crore but margin may expand 20 basis points to 4.9 percent compared to year-ago period.
Key factors to watch out for would be any offtake of LNG in Q2 due to low spot prices, update on Rasgas contract, clarity on re-gasification margins for pooled gas for power sector and also clarity on Kochi-Mangalore-Bangalore pipeline.
