MMTC Q2 net loss at Rs 10.4 crore

MMTC has posted a net loss of Rs 10.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 as compared to a net loss of Rs 113 crore for the same quarter ended September 30, 2012.

State-run MMTC reported a net loss of Rs 10.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 mainly on account of lesser income from its operations.     


It had registered a net loss of Rs 113 crore during the corresponding period of the last fiscal.     


"The company has posted a net loss of Rs 10.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 as compared to a net loss of Rs 113 crore for the same quarter ended September 30, 2012," MMTC said in a filing to the BSE.     

The company's total income from operations decreased to Rs 7,468 crore in the Q2 of 2013-14 compared to Rs 8,846 crore in the same period last year. Also, net sales of the trading giant was down to Rs 7,326 crore during July-September 2013 quarter compared to Rs 8,734 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
