GSK Consumer Healthcare Q1 profit dips 17.6%

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSKCH) reported 17.6 percent decline in standalone net profit at Rs 132.23 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 160.61 crore in the same period last fiscal, GSKCH said in a BSE filing.

Its total income also slipped 1.5 percent to Rs 1,101.57 crore during the period under review from Rs 1,118.56 crore.

During the June 2017 quarter, the company's revenue from operations stood at Rs 1,045.88 crore as against Rs 1,059.38 crore in the year-ago period.

GSKCH incurred higher expenses during April-June 2017 quarter at Rs 897.08 crore compared to Rs 871.17 crore in the same quarter last year.

The company's shares today closed at Rs 5505.30 apiece, up 1.02 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
