Eros International Q1 net down 10% to Rs 47.86 cr

We are in the last phase of the September quarter earnings season, and the results announced by the BSE 500 companies so far have shown signs of a sharp recovery, as compared to the June quarter, when the economic activity in the country was compromised due to lockdown in various regions. From the BSE 500 list, 216 companies have announced their September quarter results so far. Entertainment firm Eros International Media today reported 10.47 percent decline in its consolidated net profit at Rs 47.86 crore for the June quarter on account of lower income.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 53.46 crore during the same period of previous fiscal, Eros International Media said in a BSE filing.

Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 259.62 crore as against Rs 410.36 crore in the year ago period, down 36.73 percent.

"Our portfolio approach with an objective to build a healthy regional slate served us well as we are seeing growth across the regional languages," Eros International Media Ltd Executive Vice Chairman and MD Sunil Lulla said.

The stock closed 2.99 percent down at Rs 189.85 on BSE.
