Thomas Cook India launches forex services via WhatsApp

Once this is done, customers gain direct access to an AI-enabled chatbot, providing round-the-clock assistance from any location

Thomas Cook (India) Limited on September 21 introduced end-to-end forex transactions through WhatsApp.

Customers will need to add "Thomas Cook Forex" as a contact on WhatsApp using the number +918879142236, just like adding any other contact.

Once this is done, customers gain direct access to an AI-enabled chatbot, providing round-the-clock assistance from any location.

The latest move empowers customers to access live exchange rates, engage in forex buying and selling, make international money transfers for family support or education fees, and manage transactions.

"This industry-first initiative will enable our customers access end-to-end forex services anytime and anywhere: view live rates, buy and sell forex, manage their prepaid forex cards on-tour, send money abroad to their family, and more, via WhatsApp," said Deepesh Varma, Executive Vice-President – Foreign Exchange, Thomas Cook (India) Limited.
