Localisation push: Honda to develop nextgen Brio in India

Japanese carmaker Honda is looking to locally design and develop future products for the Indian market at its facility in Greater Noida.

The next gen Brio is slated to be the first designed and developed in India model as the company is pushing for further localisation to save costs and enhance competitiveness.

India has emerged as Honda's 4th largest market by volumes after the US, China and Japan. And so, the Japanese giant is looking to design and develop cars made for and in India.

The first car to be locally developed at Honda's upcoming R&D facility in Greater Noida, Honda Genbetsu India (HGID), will be the next generation version of the compact hatchback, Brio.
