Livpure eyes Rs 1,000 cr sales in four years

The company launched country's first wi-fi enabled RO water purifier, i-taste, which allows consumers to control the taste of purified water through smartphones.

Water purifier maker Livpure is aiming at Rs 1,000 crore sales in next four years, riding on expansion of product line, sales network and growth of online sales.

The company launched country's first wi-fi enabled RO water purifier, i-taste, which allows consumers to control the taste of purified water through smartphones.

Besides, it also plans to introduce Glitz range of RO water purifier, catering the mass market, to tap the entry-level segment.

"This year we are going to end up around Rs 300 crore...Going with the current growth rate we would cross Rs 1,000 crore target by FY2020-21," Livpur founder Rakesh Malhotra told PTI.

He further said: "Livpur by virtue of its strategy of differentiated products from technology stand point and differentiated service and manufacturing excellence would create market".

Livpur had closed last fiscal at around Rs 150 crore.

"We are bullish because we were not every where," Malhotra said, adding the company would enhance sales network across the channels.

Livpur, which is present in 23 states with 15,000 sales points, has around 12 per cent share of the RO water purifier market.

Livpure, promoted by SAR group, has raised three round of funding for expansion and would continue to expand its Manesar based unit.

The company is also expecting online sales to contribute at least 25 per cent in next 3-4 years.

"Presently it is very small at around 5-6 per cent but in next 3-4 years, it would be around 25 per cent," Malhotra said.

Livpure, which is exporting to seven countries, would scout for more geographies as it is expecting exports would contribute around 10 per cent of its total sales in next few years.

Besides, the company has also plans to expand brand Livpure in other healthcare products.

"As we go ahead and look at newer products, Livpure may not be limited to RO purifiers. We have already started purification devices on the higher end. We will probably look at other opportunities again related to healthcare," he said adding that for next one and half year, it would mainly focus on RO segment.

Indian RO water market size is of 2.3 million units and is growing 20 per cent annually. Around 40 per cent of the market is with the grey players and rest 60 per cent with branded players, he added.
