July auto sales: Maruti up 20%, Leyland zooms 40%; M&M weak

Maruti Suzuki has registered a strong 20.1 percent growth in July sales on Saturday, aided by passenger cars sales. The country's largest car maker sold 1.22 lakh units in the month gone by against 1.01 lakh units sold in the same period last year.

Domestic sales increased by 22.5 percent to 1.1 lakh units compared to 90,093 units in the year-ago period while exports grew only 0.2 percent to 11,307 units in July.

Maruti said passenger cars sales grew by 25.9 percent to 91,602 units during the same period, led by growth in across segments.
