CNBC-TV18 learns that Hyundai India will stick to its target of 2 launches per year for next 3 years.
New launches and new segments, that's the crux of Korean car maker Hyundai's India strategy over the next few years.
CNBC-TV18 learns that Hyundai India will stick to its target of 2 launches per year for the next 3 years. So, this year we will see one new compact car and one new SUV hitting Indian roads. The new launches on the anvil for 2018 and 2019 will see Hyundai break into 3 new segments.
One of these will be the sub-4-metre category. The company also plans to launch an entry level car with a family oriented design.
However, the company says it has no plans to enter the multipurpose vehicle segment just yet. All these vehicles are slated to roll out of Hyundai's Chennai plant, which has an existing capacity of 7 lakh cars per year.
