Godrej Appliances, which partnered the UK-based Sure Chill Company last year to launch medical refrigerators, is eyeing Rs 200 crore revenue from the segment by 2020.
The company has added six offerings this year and plans to set up a capacity of 30,000 units over the next two years.
"We are planning to build manufacturing capacity for 30,000 units from the current capacity of 10,000 units over the next 2 years and hope to generate Rs 200 crore revenue from medical refrigerator portfolio by 2020," Kamal Nandi, Business Head - Refrigerators, Godrej Appliances said.
Godrej Appliances exports its medical refrigerators to 10 countries.
With this portfolio, Godrej aims to reduce vaccine wastage efforts by 30 per cent in developing nations.
"When it comes to immunization, the cost of wastage must not be measured in dollars but in the count of lives lost," Jamshyd Godrej, Chairman and Managing Director, Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Company said.
