Facebook is testing a new feature that will allow users to take a temporary break from a friend or a group without unfriending or unfollowing them
Facebook will soon have a snooze option that will let you unfollow friends and groups temporarily. The popular social network site is testing a new feature that will allow users to take a temporary break from a friend or a group without unfriending or unfollowing them.
The new feature has started to appear on Facebook’s website in the US, said a report by Techcrunch. The report further said that a company official confirmed the testing of the new feature and stated that Facebook is “…. testing new ways to give people control over their News Feeds so they can stay connected with the stories they find most relevant.”
In order to snooze a person, user should tap the drop-down arrow on the top right of that person’s post. Here, instead of the existing ‘unfollow’ option, the option of ‘unfollow or snooze’ will appear. After tapping on that, the user will be given the option to snooze the person for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days along with the option to ‘unfollow’.
The same pattern can be followed when it comes to temporarily leaving a group for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.
