Dabur India Chief Executive Officer Sunil Duggal pulls no punches. Maybe it’s because of the vigour of managing a 400-product company while taking on rivals like Unilever and Patanjali. Moneycontrol caught up with the over 22-year-old veteran of the company known for its honey, Chyawanprash and Real juices.  In the 30-minute chat, Duggal spoke on sugar content in Dabur products, demonetization, GST, likely FY18 sales and margins, price hikes and new launches.

With diabetes amongst the biggest diseases affecting millions of Indians, there is a lot of focus on sugar, particularly artificial sweeteners. What are you doing as a company to reduce the sugar content in your products?

Juices have sugar but much lower than what is there in Coke and Pepsi and all that, much lower.  100 percent juices also are there. So the idea is to give people a choice and have a sugar-free option for practically everything.
