Bugatti's USD 3 million sports car Chiron sets a new speed record

The car took just 32.6 seconds to reach from 0 to 400 km and later came to a standstill Just 9.3 seconds

French automobile manufacturer Bugatti has once again astonished the world with their top model Bugatti Chiron. On Monday, the sports car created a world record when it accelerated from a standstill position to 400 kmph and then came to a stop in just 41.96 seconds.

With former Formula One, IndyCar, and NASCAR star Juan Pablo Montoya at the controls, the car took just 32.6 seconds to reach from 0 to 400 km. Later the car came to a standstill Just 9.3 seconds. All this performance took just over 10,000 feet of space.

“This impressive performance is further proof that the Chiron is the world’s best super sports car,” said an elated Wolfgang Dürheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.

Unveiled for the first time last year, the three-million dollar car is named after former racer Louis Chiron and comes with an eight litre W16 quad-turbocharged engine. It produces 1500 hp of power, 1600nm torque and also generates between 2000 and 6000 of rpm.

Chiron is the successor of Bugatti Veyron, the super sports car which holds the Guinness World Record as the fastest street-legal production car with a top speed of 431.072 kmph.
