Budget 2018 is less than a fortnight away. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman of Hero Enterprise shared his Budget expectations from the Finance Minister (FM) Arun Jaitley.
The government has made one thing clear that they don't want to take the foot off the pedal of development and reform. I think they will try and do a combination of a Budget which focuses on the economy and at the same time on issues which are important to people and which is a right thing to do, he said.
More than half the population of this country is depending on agriculture as a primary source of income, he added.
The focus on infrastructure must continue, the focus on ease of doing business must continue, the focus on creating a more dynamic rural economy must continue, said Munjal.
Speaking of taxation, he said, it is done for two different purposes, one is to collect revenues for the government machinery to function and two is directional messaging.
According to him, tax rates should come down. For more, watch accompanying video...
