Akasa Air introduced redesigned uniforms for its ground services team on Friday, marking the next phase in the airline’s effort to present a unified brand identity across all departments. The new look, created by designer Rajesh Pratap Singh, will be introduced across the airline’s engineering, cargo, security, and airport services teams.

The updated uniforms are designed to ensure consistency with the airline’s existing design language for cabin crew and pilots, thereby creating a cohesive visual identity across all operational roles. The airline has opted for a distinct purple colour scheme to align with its brand palette.

The uniforms have been tailored with a focus on functionality and comfort, using upgraded fabrics designed for long working hours and ease of movement. The trousers continue to be made from recycled materials, reflecting Akasa Air’s ongoing sustainability efforts.

Akasa Air has also retained its gender-neutral approach to uniform design, maintaining simplicity and adaptability across all roles.

The airline said the redesign draws from employee feedback and aims to enhance workplace comfort while strengthening a sense of community and shared purpose among its ground teams.

Belson Coutinho, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Akasa Air, said, "At Akasa Air, our people are at the heart of everything we do. The redesign of our ground services team uniforms reflects our commitment towards creating a cohesive, comfortable, and contemporary identity across our frontline departments. Every element, from the fabric to the fit, has been thoughtfully considered to meet the functional needs of our team members while embodying our brand’s progressive and inclusive spirit. We believe that when our people feel valued and empowered, it shows in the experience we deliver to our passengers. This initiative is another step in building a workplace that is truly community-driven, progressive, and employee-first."

Prioritising comfort and functionality with a continued focus on sustainability

"With an upgraded fabric composition, the comfort of the uniforms has been significantly enhanced while maintaining wearability and ease of movement," Akasa Air said in a statement.

"The new uniforms adopt a striking purple hue, ensuring a visually cohesive palette across all ground service departments," Akasa Air said in a statement.

The redesign creates strong visual continuity between ground services teams, cabin crew, and pilots. By integrating design elements that echo across departments, Akasa Air has strengthened its sense of identity and shared purpose.
