Claris gets nod from Russia to market two generic drugs

Claris Lifescience Thursday said it has got approval from the Russian Ministry of Health to market two intravenous injections, Fluconazole IV and Levofloxacin IV, used to treat various fungal and bacterial diseases, respectively, in Russia."We have just got these drugs registered in Russia, the commercialisation of which would take place by the next quarter," a spokesperson of the company told moneycontrol.com.Claris also has another four products in the pipeline for registration in Russia, he said without giving any specification.With these two new approvals, Claris now has a basket of four major anti-infective products for Russia, the company said. The total market size of these four parenteral products is estimated to be USD 53 million, the company added in the press release.At 13:30 hrs, shares of Claris Lifescience were trading at Rs 167.50, up 1.21% on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
