Bharti opens new retail setup; Reliance brings hypermart

While Easyday Hyper offers over 20,000 products that include 475 new items across categories such as jams and spreads, spices, flour, biscuits, namkeens, ethnic sweets, oils, ready to fry, chocolates, the RelianceMart offers over 20,000 products in fashion, apparel, consumer electronics, home ideas, leisure, beauty and style, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, grocery, telecom,gift items, entertainment, health and wellness products among others, the companies said in separate statements.RelianceMart will employ 200 people and its loyalty-based programme 'RelianceOne' that has over 6 million customers. The Mukesh Ambani firm now has 12 outlets under the RelianceMart brand, but did not disclose the investment for the latest one. The Bharti Retail outlet is spread over 60,000 sqft and marks the entry of the company into the Western states."We are delighted to cross two significant milestones today: Our entry into Western region and the launch of a new format - our full line hypermarket under the Easyday brand called Easyday Hyper in Mumbai."We are optimistic that this store will be as well-received as our stores in the North, Central and Southern regions," Bharti Retail Chief Operating Officer Andrew Levermore said in a statement issued here.
