Chidambaram to inaugurate CISF centre in Sivaganga

A new battalion centre of the CISF will be inaugurated in Tamil Nadu‘s Sivaganga by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on June 23.

A new battalion centre of the CISF will be inaugurated in Tamil Nadu’s Sivaganga by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on June 23.


Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde will also be present during the opening of the centre which will house the 9th Reserve battalion of the central paramilitary force. The centre will have facilities to house close to 1,000 personnel of the  paramilitary and will be equipped with training infrastructure for serving men and women of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).


Chidambaram, during his stint as the Home Minister, had cleared the creation of this battalion centre in his Lok Sabha constituency, sources said. Top brass of the force including its Director General (DG) Rajiv will also be present during the event.
