NSEL scam: SFIO writes to NSEL investors seeking details

CNBC-TV18 learns from sources privy to the matter that SFIO has sought information from investors and active trading entities on various aspects of transactions through an exhaustive list of questions.

The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) has sent a questionnaire to National Spot Exchange Limited (NSEL) investors seeking details on action taken by them after NSEL scam broke.

CNBC-TV18 learns from sources privy to the matter that SFIO has sought information from investors and active trading entities on various aspects of transactions through an exhaustive list of questions.

Investors have been asked to furnish information pertaining to the brokerages through which they entered and executed the trade on NSEL along with the payments mechanisms in place at NSEL.

Information has also been sought with respect to the actions taken by the brokers against the brokerages and the exchange after the scam was exposed in 2013.

NSEL forum is supposedly seeking legal assistance prior to furnishing its reply to SFIO. The forum is expected to submit its reply to the SFIO by April 10, 2017.
