Mahindra forays into e-commerce with M2ALL.com

According to V Parthsarthy, Group CFO & Chairman of Mahindra e-marketplace, M2ALL is a group wide portal for customers across the world. It will have all the products and services that Mahindra offers and also have complementary products and services, he said.

The Mahindra Monday announced its debut into the e-commerce space with the launch of M2ALL.com, an e-marketplace for Mahindra products and services.

It has been launched along with TUV 300 to give an exclusive online booking. The venture is set to bring the reach and range of the Mahindra Group to the entire world, said V Parthsarthy, Group CFO & Chairman of Mahindra e-marketplace to CNBC-TV18’s Farah Bookwala Vhora.

According to him M2ALL is a group wide portal for customers across the world.  It will have all the products and services that Mahindra offers and also have complementary products and services, said Parthsarthy.

Therefore, we bring in a unique set of preposition wherein consumers can experience the ecommerce along with our existing channels, he added.

Along with our brick and mortar model this new foray will create magical experience of birck for customers and it will help in build on the trust factor, he said.

When asked if the e-commerce venture was a bit delayed in coming compared to other players, he said “In a sense it is the most appropriate time. Each business has looked at the digital support that is required and created those ventures. We thought it was time to bring the entire array of products and services that the Mahindra Group has in a single chain,” said Parthsarthy.

While Parthasarathy did not reveal the capital that has gone into the venture, he said the operations began with "frugal investments", and will incrementally go up as the business scales up.

Currently, five of Mahindra Group's 31 brands will have virtual stores at the marketplace, and all the brands will be available within the next two years, "as and when their technical back-end is sound", Vijay Mahajan, head of E Market Place, Corporate IT, said.

Parthasarthy said E Market Place has 10 employees and is in the process of expanding its team. M2ALL also offers the group companies and external sellers e-commerce technology, including online catalogue management services, integration with payment gateways, back-end integration, and support services such as digital marketing, data analytics, logistics and call centre services, the company said.
