Pre-placement offers (PPOs) have started pouring in at IIM-Calcutta but the tide can change anytime in the coming months due to the volatile global economic scenario, reports CNBC-TV18's Mitra Joshi and Gopika Gopakumar report.
Students of IIM Calcutta have reasons to smile. PPOs have kicked off at major IIMs round the country and in the first 15 days itself, IIM-C has seen campus offers from sectors like Investment banking, consulting, marketing and IT. Major recruiters include investment banks such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Nomura, Barclays Capital and consulting giants like McKinsey, AT Kearney, Bain, Boston Consulting Group.
From the marketing sector it is Hindustan Unilever and Microsoft from the IT space are already on the campus. Moreover, offers have also been made for multiple, international locations like New York, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai.
IIM-C says out of a batch size of 352, totally 52 PPOs / 29 PPIs have already been confirmed.
