The Economic Survey for 2023-24 tabled in Parliament on July 22 said that a total of 8,29,409 km of road length has been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) out of which, 7,63,308 km of road length has been completed as on 18 th June 2024 at an expenditure of Rs 3.23 lakh crore.

A total of 8,29,409 km of road length has been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) as on 18 th June 2024 at an expenditure of Rs 3.23 lakh crore.

The government is planning to launch phase four of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on July 23.

"Phase-IV of the PMGSY will be launched to provide all weather connectivity to 25,000 rural habitations, which have become eligible in view of their population increase," Sithraman said as part of her Budget speech for the financial year 2024-25.

The Economic Survey for 2023-24 tabled in Parliament on July 22 said that a total of 8,29,409 km of road length has been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) out of which, 7,63,308 km of road length has been completed as on 18 th June 2024 at an expenditure of Rs 3.23 lakh crore.

It said that going forward the development of 11 industrial corridor projects as part of the national industrial corridor programme will further enhance road connectivity in India.
