Ola launches all-electric parcel services in Bengaluru

The intra-city parcel delivery space is currently dominated by players like Porter, Swiggy Genie, Uber and Dunzo. Ola's close rival Uber also has parcel delivery service offering through 'Uber Connect'.

Ride-hailing firm Ola has entered the parcel delivery service segment on October 6 through the launch of 'Ola Parcel', and will operate using Ola electric scooters in Bengaluru.

"Launching Ola Parcel today in Bengaluru! Start of an all-electric 2W logistics ecosystem for India," wrote Bhavish Aggarwal, co-founder and CEO of Ola on X (formerly Twitter).

The firm will be charging Rs 25 for 5km, Rs 50 for 10km, Rs 75 for 15 km and Rs 100 for 20km.

The full-scale rollout of the service will follow in Bengaluru and will be scaled in cities across the country in the next few months, Ola said in a media statement.

"You can use tonight onwards. Expanding across India very soon," Aggarwal wrote.
