Apply a thick layer of moisturiser, coconut oil, or almond oil on your face and body. This acts as a barrier and prevents colours from penetrating your skin
Since Holi is played outdoors, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin from UV rays and colour absorption
Apply a thick lip balm or petroleum jelly to prevent chapped lips and colour stains. Also, trim and apply dark nail polish to your nails to prevent colours from staining them
Avoid facials, waxing, or exfoliation at least 2-3 days before Holi, as these treatments make your skin sensitive
Use lukewarm water and mild cleansers instead of scrubbing aggressively. Apply coconut or olive oil to remove stubborn colour stains before washing
If your skin feels irritated, apply fresh aloe vera gel or chilled rose water to soothe redness and inflammation. Aloe vera also helps in hydration and repairing damaged skin
After cleansing, apply a deep moisturiser to restore hydration and repair the skin barrier. Ingredients like hyaluronic acid, shea butter, or glycerin work best
After Holi, your skin needs time to heal, so avoid heavy makeup for at least 24 hours. Let your skin recover naturally with hydration and gentle skincare
Staying hydrated flushes out toxins and keeps your skin fresh and glowing after Holi
