It’s been quite a year of experimentation for luxury brands, who took inspiration from unusual places, right, left, and centre, and turned them into works of art by upgrading or recreating them in their goods. It doesn’t just stop there; these items are also priced exorbitantly, which only adds to the amusement. From Prada’s crochet safety pin brooch to Louis Vuitton’s auto-rickshaw bag, these bizarre items are sure to leave you highly entertained.
Prada’s crochet safety pin brooch for Rs 69,000
The luxury brand picked up an ordinary safety pin, usually priced between Rs 20 and Rs 50 in the Indian market, wrapped it in crochet, and added its signature logo charm. How much is it selling for? $775, which comes to approximately Rs 69,000.
Seeing a common household item mostly found in women’s accessory bags, the internet couldn’t help but have fun. One user wrote in a post, “My grandma could do it better.” Another said, “The same type of safety pin can be found in India for just ₹1, but Prada has reimagined it as a high-fashion accessory.”
Louis Vuitton’s auto-rickshaw bag for Rs 1,35,000
Louis Vuitton surprised many by introducing a handbag modelled after India’s very own auto rickshaw in its Spring/Summer 2026 menswear collection. The details matched flawlessly, with the designer piece featuring three wheels, handles, and a yellow canopy, duly carrying the LV signature monogram on the brown detailing. Although it’s not unusual for LV to create out-of-the-box items, this one, priced at Rs 135,000, carried a cultural reference a little too explicitly, leaving the internet both confused and amused.
Moschino’s Light Blue Pen Ink Leak Pocket Shirt for Rs 80,000
Who would’ve thought that an embarrassing ink leak on a shirt could be turned into a statement? But luxury brand Moschino seems to have done exactly that. The shirt, priced at a whopping Rs 80,000, is light blue in colour and features a distinct pen ink leak pocket design. While the rest of the shirt looks professional with its crisp cuffs and curved hem, the ink stain is the little surprise that sets it apart.
Loewe's tomato clutch bag for Rs 3,50,000
As part of the Paula's Ibiza 2025 collection, the Spanish luxury fashion house surprised many by showcasing a tomato clutch boasting enviable details. Crafted from nappa lambskin and adorned with a gold-detailed stem, the bag mirrors the fruit perfectly and looks trendy. This creation was inspired by the heirloom tomato meme made about the brand by a social media user. However, creative director Jonathan Anderson took it sportingly and turned it into a fun creation.
