Acclaimed filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, known for his searing and unflinching cinematic narratives, is once again ready to stir the national conscience with his latest project, The Bengal Files: Right to Life.
The newly released teaser has already generated considerable buzz, especially with its bold tagline: “If Kashmir hurt you, Bengal will haunt you.”
After The Tashkent Files' overwhelming impact and The Kashmir Files' unprecedented success, Agnihotri's upcoming film explores yet another obscure period of Indian history.
Previously known as The Delhi Files, the project has experienced a major rebranding. The film, which is now called The Bengal Files: Right to Life, marks a deeper exploration of a tragic but little-known incident that needs national attention.
The teaser is eerie and potent. It demonstrates the filmmaker's dedication to exposing difficult realities through a sequence of gloomy images, a sombre soundtrack, and poignant scenes.
Throughout, Agnihotri's trademark intensity is apparent, with images meant to challenge rather than soothe. The teaser indicates that viewers should expect an emotionally charged drama with historical roots, similar to his earlier work.
The film, which was produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi, features a strong ensemble cast. Together with Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar, the ensemble is led by Mithun Chakraborty, who was seen in a spooky previous teaser reciting the Preamble to the Constitution with a burnt tongue. Tej Narayan Agarwal and I Am Buddha Productions are presenting the movie, which is anticipated to be an engrossing experience grounded in socio-political reality.

After the success of its predecessors, Agnihotri's acclaimed Files Trilogy continues with The Bengal Files, its third installment. In keeping with Agnihotri's storytelling philosophy, the film, which is slated to open in theatres on September 5, 2025, promises to leave a deep emotional impression in addition to provoking discussions.
This looks to be one of the most significant films of the year for people who are interested in hidden realities and are motivated to consider the history of the country.
