Vijay Deverakonda shares his wholesome moment with his mother; family chat reveals his pet name

His fans may address him as 'The VD' but he will always remain 'Chinu' to his mother - Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda. The actor recently offered fans a rare glimpse into his personal life, with a heartwarming post on Instagram that’s melting hearts online as he has an open heart to the special bond that he shares with his family.

The Arjun Reddy actor admitted he didn’t even know how to react to such a request, sharing a screenshot of a WhatsApp chat with his mother that showed her asking whether they could go out for dinner as a family over the coming weekend.

Vijay’s answer was a resounding yes — he was in. It was hardly a complicated transaction, but it provided an endearing window into the thespian’s life outside of work and the endearing pet name his mom has for him- ‘Chinuu’ and which means the little one.

‘Mum said suddenly, ‘Can we go out for dinner? And it had been so long since we had gone out, just us. We’re all always running around working and doing things and forgetting to live sometimes, and last night we went and had a great time. And don’t neglect your mom and dad, spend time with them, hang out, give them a kiss and a hug and tell them you love them,” he wrote.

Many followers related to the post, which quickly went viral with more than 800,000 likes. His admirers lauded Vijay for being so down to earth and subtly teaching them about the family values in one’s busy lifestyle.

This is not the first time Vijay has spoken about being close to his parents. In a previous interview, he disclosed that his parents and brothers used to call him ‘Rowdy’ for being so mischievous as a little boy. The name stuck and later became an integral part of his brand—Vijay has since named his clothing brand “Rowdy” in honour of his adventurous personality and childhood moniker.
