Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John bags No 1 spot at Amazon Prime Video for 10 Days straight

Varun Dhawan's latest film, Baby John, has taken the OTT world by storm. Since its release on Amazon Prime Video, the movie has dominated the charts, securing the top spot for 10 consecutive days.

Directed by Kalees, Baby John is the Hindi adaptation of the Tamil hit Theri. The film follows DCP Satya Verma, played by Varun Dhawan, as he battles a sex-trafficking gang while protecting his daughter. The movie marks Keerthy Sush's Hindi debut. The latest film also features Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff in the pivotal role.

The film is produced by Priya Atlee, Murad Khetani, and Jyoti Deshpande under the banners of A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios. The film was initially expected to be a major Christmas box office hit.

Despite a mixed response in theaters, Baby John has found massive success on streaming, with fans praising its gripping storyline and high-energy performances.

The film notably struggled to perform well on the box office, earning Rs 61 crore globally and Rs 47.3 crore in India’s gross collection. As a remake of Vijay's Theri, Baby John boasted a substantial budget, but its box office prospects were hindered by intense competition from other major releases, including Pushpa 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King.

The actor has previously shared that Baby John was a significant milestone in his career, as it challenged him to push past his limits, both physically and as a performer.
