While being a celebrity helps one get a name and the perks of being rich and famous, there are some cons too. There are some celebrities whose news of their death has gone viral on social media. These were hoaxes, and while it concerned the fans of these celebrities, actors have been quick to address fans that they are hale and hearty.

Divyanka Tripathi
Rumours of the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress's death in an accident spread rapidly on social media, with the hashtag #RIPDivyankaTripathi trending. She had to personally debunk the rumours on Twitter, reassuring fans and family that she was "very much alive".

Mukesh Khanna
The veteran actor, famous for playing Shaktimaan and Bhishma Pitamah, was a victim of a death hoax during the COVID-19 pandemic. Irritated by the constant calls, he released a video message confirming he was "perfectly alright".

Shweta Tiwari
A Facebook page falsely posted news about the Kasautii Zindagii Kay actress's death, causing widespread shock. Her then-husband, Abhinav Kohli, quickly clarified to the media that she was fine and healthy.

Shivaji Satam
Known as the iconic ACP Pradyuman from the show C.I.D., rumours of his death from a heart attack circulated widely. It was later revealed that the death was part of an on-screen storyline, which led to the confusion.

Farida Jalal
The senior actress faced death rumours on social media in 2017. She dismissed the "baseless rumours" herself, expressing shock and irritation at the distress caused to her and her family.

Arvind Trivedi

There was false news that Hina had passed away in Germany. There was news circulated on social media with headlines in the likes as ‘Bollywood celebrities attend Hina Khan’s last rites’ and ‘Hina Khan no more’.
