Chiyaan Vikram starrer Thangalaan has made a solid start at the box office, with over 232,000 tickets sold in advance. While this indicates promising pre-release buzz, the film's potential has been somewhat curtailed by the stiff competition from Mr. Bachchan and Double iSmart in the crucial Telugu market, where Vikram enjoys a significant fan following.

As of the morning of August 14th, Thangalaan had garnered a respectable ₹4.15 crore in advance bookings. While this figure doesn't set any records, it certainly provides a solid base for a promising opening day.
