Tanya Mittal demands respect

Tanya Mittal may have only just stepped into the Bigg Boss 19 house, but she’s already managed to stir up a whirlwind of conversation — both inside and outside the house.

Known for her bold persona as an influencer and entrepreneur, Tanya wasted no time in setting the tone: she demands respect, owns her confidence unapologetically, and isn’t afraid to say it out loud.

On day one, during a discussion about how women are addressed, Tanya made her stance crystal clear. When Kunickaa asked a fellow contestant not to call any other woman “ma’am” except her, Tanya jumped in and said, “Mujhe toh ma’am bolo, mujhe boss hi bolte hain sab log,” adding that even her family calls her “boss.”

She went on to say, “Girls don’t get respect easily, they have to take it by putting pressure... I don’t want to get respect only when I turn 50. I want it now.” Her words sparked immediate reactions, with many applauding her confidence — while others felt it came off as arrogant.

Tanya also spoke openly about her security detail, telling fellow housemates she travels with bodyguards — not as a luxury, but a norm in her family. “My bodyguards saved 100 people in Kumbh Mela... We have a habit of walking with security. We like having PSOs and staff,” she told them, brushing off a joke from Zeishaan Qadri about how bodyguards usually run when trouble hits.

But what really set tongues wagging was her chat with comedian Pranit More, where she spoke about maintaining her identity without compromising. “I am still wearing saree and coming here… I reached here without doing those types of scenes or wearing those types of clothes,” she said, highlighting what she sees as an achievement in staying true to herself.

Her statements quickly found their way online — and not everyone was impressed. Social media lit up with mixed opinions. Some called her “egoistic,” “delusional,” and “narcissistic.” Others compared her to Urvashi Rautela, dubbing her “Urvashi 2.0.”
