Tamil actor Karthi recently suffered an unfortunate accident while filming for his highly anticipated film Sardar 2 in Mysuru.
The incident took place during the shooting of an intense action sequence, prompting immediate medical attention.
As per a report from News 18 Showsha, Karthi was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors evaluated his condition. While his fans are understandably concerned, reports suggest that he is receiving the necessary care and attention.
Doctors have advised Karthi to take at least a week off to recover fully from his injury.
In response, the producers of Sardar 2 have decided to temporarily halt the shooting and return to Chennai. The team will resume filming only when Karthi is fit and ready to continue his work.
As of now, Karthi has not provided any updates on his health, and specific details about his hospitalisation remain unclear.
Meanwhile, the team had recently completed filming the climax of the film, which had been shot on an elaborate set at a Chennai studio.
The current schedule was focused on an intense action sequence involving Karthi and SJ Suryah, designed by renowned stunt coordinator Chethan Ramshi D’Souza, known for his work on Aavesham.

Directed by PS Mithran, Sardar 2 will see Karthi take on dual roles, with the narrative spanning two different time periods. Filming began in mid-2024 and was progressing well towards completion. However, this recent setback has led to a temporary delay. The film's sequel will also feature Karthi and Rajisha Vijayan reprising their roles from the original, with new cast members including SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, and Ashika Ranganath. With approximately 80% of the film already shot, the team is eager to get back to work once Karthi recovers.

The filming of Sardar 2 had already faced a tragic incident earlier in July 2024 when stuntman Ezhumalai lost his life following a fatal fall during an action sequence. Reports indicated that Ezhumalai suffered internal hemorrhage and succumbed to his injuries, which led to a temporary halt in the film’s production.
