At the trailer launch of "Vedaa," John Abraham faced criticism for the perceived repetitiveness of his action films.
In response, Tamannaah Bhatia, who has a cameo in the film, came to his defense, emphasizing the film's unique elements and innovative approach to the action genre.
Tamannaah expressed her support for John Abraham amidst the controversy stemming from his 'can I call out idiots' comment during the press conference.
She echoed John's sentiments, stating that "Vedaa" is not just another action film but offers a fresh perspective on how the genre can deliver meaningful cinematic experiences.
"Don't judge Vedaa by its cover - Trust me when I say, it's more than just an action film! My friend @TheJohnAbraham, one of the nation’s favorite action heroes, is bringing his incredible influence to a genre he's totally mastered. This time, he's telling a different kind of story through action, showing just how deeply this genre can convey meaningful cinematic experiences today," Tamannaah wrote on X.
Along with the note, she also shared the film’s trailer. Here is the post:

She added, "What's even more exciting, personally to me, is that Nikhil Advani is returning to the director's chair after 6 or 7 years, which adds yet another layer of anticipation to our film. I can’t miss mentioning #Sharvari here and how I just can’t wait for y’all to see her kill it on the big screen yet again!"
Tamannaah concluded by saying, "Although my contribution to the film is modest, I'm genuinely so excited about its release and to have partnered with John, Nikhil sir, Sharvari, Abhishekh Banerjee, and the entire crew of Vedaa. Our film promises to bring a fresh perspective to action films in our country, and I feel everyone would love to experience this new story on the big screen."
The controversy began when John Abraham expressed his frustration at the trailer launch when a journalist commented on the repetitiveness of his action films. John's response, "'Aapne film dekhi hai?' (Have you seen the film)? Can I call out bad questions and idiots?" highlighted his displeasure.
"Vedaa," set to release on August 15, is an action-thriller directed by Nikkhil Advani, featuring Abhishek Bannerjee as the antagonist, with cameo appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia and Mouni Roy.
