The Bombay High Court is set to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on February 19, which aims to further investigate the deaths of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager, Disha Salian.
This PIL calls for the arrest and interrogation of Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray, linking him to the two deaths that have long remained mysterious.
In a recent interaction with ANI, Sushant's father, K.K. Singh, expressed his hope that justice would be served for his son under the new Maharashtra government. He shared his belief that, even after all this time, the truth could still come to light.
"Jo log local aadmi ai Patna main rehte hai, unn log local hai unn log ko maalum hoga, eeh baat hum kar skte hai ki Sushant singh suicide nhi kia hoga, Baaki jo kuch bhi kia hai voh vaha k local log ko pta hai jo aayega saamne aajayega court se" (People from Patna, the local people, will know the truth. We can say that Sushant Singh did not commit suicide. Whatever happened, the local people there will know, and it will all come forward in court).
He went on to share his unwavering confidence in the legal process, stating, "Poora umeed hai, Court par poora umeed hai aur aayega hee" (I have full hope, full hope in the court, and it will come).
Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found dead at his residence in Bandra on June 14, 2020. The investigation was initially handled by the Mumbai Police but was later handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
His postmortem report confirmed the cause of death as asphyxia, though suspicions and doubts about the circumstances continue to linger.
Nearly five years after Sushant's tragic passing, the PIL, filed by Rashid Khan Pathan, President of the Supreme Court and High Court Litigants Association of India, aims to bring the case to the forefront once again.
Sushant’s journey to fame began when he dropped out of engineering college and entered the world of theatre. In 2008, he made his television debut, and his big break in Bollywood came with his role in Kai Po Che. Sushant’s career reached its zenith with the success of M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story, which not only catapulted him to stardom but also endeared him to millions of fans.
Despite his rising career, Sushant’s sudden and tragic death left an irreplaceable void. Known for his kind gestures and love for his fans, Sushant was adored by many.
His last major film, Chhichhore, was a huge success, and his final appearance in Dil Bechara was released posthumously on OTT, further solidifying his legacy.
The PIL filed in the Bombay High Court has sparked renewed hope among Sushant's family and supporters that the mystery surrounding his death will eventually be solved and that justice will prevail.
