Bollywood actors Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar have shared screens in multiple iconic films. The duo’s on-screen chemistry and comedic timing have entertained the fans over the years. However, Suniel and Akshay’s bond extend beyond the cameras.
In a recent interview with Instant Bollywood, Suniel has reflected on his close friendship and emotional connection with Akshay, which is related to his personal loss.
Suniel was asked about the brotherly bond with Akshay, to which he responded, “Yes, he reminds me of my cousin Ullas, and I think that's why I'm very emotionally attached to Akshay, because he keeps reminding me of my cousin.”
The actor recalled, “The structure, the look... then, when he was younger, I told Akshay on the first day of the shoot for Waqt Humara Hai, the way he is and his entire behaviour reminds me of him.”
For the unversed, Suniel’s cousin Ullas tragically died in a car accident at a young age. He had previously shared on Radio Nasha that Ullas was the one who helped him get his first modelling gig. The actor also admitted that losing his cousin was a devastating experience.
Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty has collaborated with Akshay Kumar on several blockbusters like Mohra and Waqt Hamara Hai. The duo then went on to collaborate for the cult classics, Hera Pheri and Awara Paagal Deewana, Phir Hera Pheri and De Dana Dan, becoming the fans’ favourite.
Suniel and Akshay will once again collaborate for the upcoming film, Welcome to the Jungle. Ahmed Khan’s upcoming comedy film also stars Paresh Rawal, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Lara Dutta, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, and Kiku Sharda, among others, in key roles.
However, Suniel and Akshay are also gearing up for the much-awaited Hera Pheri 3.
