Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya, one of the most talked-about couples in recent times, have recently shared their heartwarming love story, which began in a rather modern and unconventional way: through Instagram. In a candid interview with Vogue, the newlyweds opened up about how their romance bloomed, shedding light on the little moments that led to their marriage in 2024.
It all started with a fan's Instagram AMA (Ask Me Anything) question, which turned out to be the spark that ignited their love story. Sobhita, who was casually browsing through questions, came across one that caught her attention. The fan had asked, “Why aren’t you following Chay Akkineni?” Perplexed, Sobhita decided to check out Naga Chaitanya's profile. To her surprise, she discovered that he was following only about 70 people, one of whom was her. “I was like, ‘What?’ So I went to his profile and saw that he was following only around 70 people, including me. I was a tiny bit flattered, so I followed him back,” Sobhita shared in the interview.
What followed was the natural progression of two people getting to know each other. “There was no mic drop. It just happened very organically,” Sobhita revealed, highlighting the authenticity of their connection. After this initial exchange on Instagram, they began messaging each other directly. As their communication grew, so did their bond, leading to their first in-person meeting in April 2022. Naga Chaitanya, affectionately known as Chay, took the initiative to arrange a trip to Mumbai for their first breakfast date, marking a significant milestone in their relationship.
Their love story continued to develop naturally, with both of them gradually opening up about their lives and feelings. Sobhita spoke about how their relationship was built on mutual respect and understanding, mentioning that they had met each other’s families before taking the next step. This thoughtful approach was key for the couple, who valued familial approval and traditions. Their relationship flourished, and eventually, Naga Chaitanya proposed, making their commitment official.
In December 2024, the couple tied the knot in a beautiful, traditional ceremony that reflected their shared heritage and values. The wedding took place at the renowned Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, surrounded by close friends and family. The ceremony was a heartfelt tribute to Telugu customs, carefully curated by the elders of both families. “The wedding was a demonstration of Telugu customs under the direction of elders,” Sobhita explained, reflecting on the significance of their cultural roots in their celebration of love.

Post-marriage, the couple has been enjoying their time together, taking a honeymoon trip to Mexico, where they could relax and unwind after their big day. They also visited temples in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh, a place of spiritual significance for both of them. Their honeymoon experiences, along with adjusting to their married life, have been intimate and serene, a stark contrast to the often chaotic world of fame.
