The nepotism debate has been raging since long in Bollywood, and many believe that outsiders lose what is their due to the entry of insiders. And one such thing recently happened with young actor Siddharth Nigam.
Actor Siddharth Nigam, who is known for his work in TV, was set to make his big Bollywood debut with Azaad but was reportedly replaced by Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman as the lead. In a recent interview with Instant Bollywood, Siddharth's mother revealed that her son was the original choice for Azaad, but Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman ultimately bagged the role.
"I took him along for the meeting. The entire script was narrated, and we waited for a year. I was happy because the film was good, and Siddharth would have had a strong launch in Bollywood. I really loved the script. But suddenly, after two years, Siddharth showed me the poster of Azaad and said, 'Mum, this has been released, and these are the people in the film.' Then we saw that the film starred Ajay Devgn’s nephew and Rasha. For the first time in my life, I felt bad. When things like this happen, as a mother, it hurts. Then I realised both of them were star kids, and that made all the difference," she said.
To this Siddharth says: “There’s no one to blame. This is the business industry, so there’s no point in asking why they did it — they must have had their own reasons. It’s more of a personal realisation and pain. You get your hopes up thinking something might work out. We wait for an entire year, and then we see the teaser. So after watching it, we just thought, ‘Oh, okay. Let’s move on.’"
When asked about her son's journey as a child actor, his mother said initially she was scared: "I thought Mumbai bula ke bech diya toh."

Siddharth also said that he wasn't even aware of what YRF was when he got a call for Dhoom 3.
Aaman Devgn and Rasha Thadani made their big Bollywood debut with the historical action drama Azaad. It was produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Abhishek Kapoor.
The movie was box office failure and it failed to impress the audience as well as the reviewers.
Siddharth is earning praises for his role in the drama Hai Junoon! Neil Nitin Mukesh, Boman Irani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sumedh Mudgalkar, and Yukti Thareja are among the main actors in the musical drama series, which is produced by Aditya Bhat and directed by Abhishek Sharma.
