Shweta Tiwari, a well-known actress in the Indian television industry, recently opened up about her reasons for wanting a son after having her daughter, Palak Tiwari. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Shweta shared a humorous anecdote about Palak’s expensive shopping habits, which played a significant role in her decision.

Shweta, who has been a dominant figure in television since her breakthrough role in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, is also a mother to Reyansh, born in 2016. During the interview, she reminisced about being pregnant with Reyansh when Palak was 16 years old. She reflected on a particular incident where Palak’s extravagant shopping on her birthday left her stunned.

“On her 16th birthday, she went out and shopped for makeup worth Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand, such expensive products. Each eye shadow was for Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,000,” Shweta revealed.

Defending herself, Palak responded lightheartedly, “To be fair, I really researched.”

Following this lavish shopping spree, Shweta humorously admitted that she told her family she could not afford to have another daughter.

“I can’t afford so much. I cannot have another daughter,” she said, expressing her lighthearted concern about managing the financial burden of raising another girl.

Despite this, Shweta and Palak share an incredibly close bond, often described as more of a friendship than a typical mother-daughter relationship. Palak fondly recalled her childhood days when she would sometimes call Shweta “didi” because of her youthful appearance.

Palak, who has been making her mark in Bollywood, first gained recognition after starring in Harrdy Sandhu’s chartbuster Bijlee Bijlee. She later made her Bollywood debut with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, where her performance was widely appreciated.

Meanwhile, Shweta remains one of the most bankable stars in the industry, with a career spanning decades. She has delivered several hit shows, including Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi, and Begusarai. She also won Bigg Boss Season 4 and was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s action-packed film Singham Again.
