Saif Ali Khan recently met and embraced Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto-rickshaw driver who rushed him to the hospital following the knife attack on January 16. The heartfelt meeting was marked by gratitude, as Saif’s mother, Sharmila Tagore, personally thanked and blessed Rana for his timely help.
Saif expressed his appreciation for Rana's quick response, acknowledging his role in ensuring the actor received urgent medical attention during the critical moments.

The driver further shared that he had the honor of touching Saif Ali Khan's and Sharmila Tagore's feet. He mentioned that they treated him with great respect and even took pictures with him. He also revealed that Saif Ali Khan assured him they would stay in contact, saying, "Let me know if you ever need anything."
In an interview with India Today TV, auto-rickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana recounted the events of that fateful night. He shared that as soon as Saif Ali Khan entered his rickshaw, the actor's first question was, "Kitna time lagega (How long will it take)" to reach the hospital?
"I was in running and suddenly I heard a sound from the gate. A lady was screaming help from near the main gate saying rickshaw ruko (stop the rickshaw). Initially, I didn't know he was Saif Ali Khan and thought of it as a normal assault case," Rana further mentioned.
The auto driver, Bhajan Singh Rana, mentioned that Saif Ali Khan was able to walk and get into the vehicle unassisted despite his injuries.
"He (Saif Ali Khan) walked towards me himself and sat in the auto. He was in an injured state. A small child and one more person was with him. Soon after sitting in my auto, Saif Ali Khan asked me kitna time lagega. We reached the hospital in eight to ten minutes".
"He was bleeding from the neck and back. His white kurta turned red, and there was a lot of blood loss. I didn't even take the fare. I feel good that I could help him at that time," the driver shared, adding that he did not take any fare from Saif Ali Khan for the ride.
On January 16, Saif Ali Khan was attacked and stabbed six times by an intruder during a burglary attempt at his Bandra residence. Following the assault, he was quickly taken to Lilavati Hospital in an auto-rickshaw at around 2:30 am, where he underwent two surgical procedures.
The Mumbai Police apprehended the attacker, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, in Thane, Mumbai, on Sunday. He was later presented before a metropolitan magistrate's court, which remanded him to five days of police custody.
