The entire episode of India's Got Latent which featured the vulgar remark made by Ranveer Allahbadia was removed from YouTube.

Information and Broadcasting Ministry asked YouTube to remove the video. Priyank Kanoongo, a member of National Human Rights Commission, had also sought the video's removal from YouTube.

The YouTube blockage was done under - Section 69A IT act 2008.

Case against Ranveer Allahbadia

Amid controversy over influencer Ranveer Allahbadia's objectionable remarks on parents and sex, the Guwahati Police on Monday registered a case against him and four others.

A complaint was registered against them by a resident of the city for allegedly promoting obscenity in a publicly accessible online show. Besides Allahbadia, the case was also filed against stand-up comedian Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija.

Who is Ranveer Allahbadia?

Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as Beer Biceps, has been embroiled in a controversy for making a remark in Raina's YouTube show 'India's Got Latent' which has sparked widespread criticism.

The case is being currently investigated, the police added.

Allahbadia, 31, has since apologised for the remarks made by him on the show.

According to a Money Control report, Ranveer Allahbadia's remarks will cost him subscribers, brand deals and a tarnished image, said marketers.

Over past 5 days, Ranveer who has two Instagram profiles has lost 8,358 followers including his account with the name BeerBiceps which has seen a drop of 4,205 drop in followers while Ranveer Allahbadia account has seen a drop of 4,153 drop in followers, according to an assessment by Qoruz, an influencer marketing intelligence platform.

Hashtags like #boycott_ranveerallahabadia and #unfollow_ranveer_allahabadia trended on social media, with users urging each other to unfollow the popular YouTuber. (With PTI inputs)
