Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated epic mythological saga, Ramayana, first look is all set to premiere on Thursday, July 3 at 12 pm. The makers have created a buzz among the fans with the announcement of the Ramayana teaser release.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of the official teaser starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. Ranbir recently wrapped up the first part of Ramayana, and the actor got emotional.
Here’s a look at more details about the upcoming magnum opus, ahead of the release of the teaser.
Ramayana stellar cast
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana features an ensemble cast from Yash to Sunny Deol. The film is expected to feature a powerful representation of the characters. Yash, who is also the producer of the film, will be seen as Ravana. Sunny Deol will portray Hanuman.
Arun Govil, who is best known for playing Lord Rama on the Doordarshan show Ramayan, has also joined the cast as Raja Dashrath. Actor Indira Krishnan is set to portray Lord Ram’s mother, Rani Kaushalya. Sai Pallavi as Sita and Ravie Dubey as Lord Ram’s brother Laxman.
However, other cast members are not officially announced, but there are reports that Rakul Preet Singh will play the role of Surpanakha, and Vivek Oberoi will portray Vidyutjihva, Surpanakha’s husband. The reports also suggested that Kajal Aggarwal will play Mandodari, and Lara Dutta will be seen as Kaikeyi in the upcoming film.
Ramayana Budget
Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana has been made with a whopping budget of Rs 835 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama. If the reports are true, then the films will be the most expensive Indian films to date.

Previously, Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan’s mythology saga, Adipurush, was made on a budget of Rs 500 crore. Despite being based on Ramayana, the film was a huge flop and received backlash for the terrible VFX.
Ramayana Release Date
Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi starrer Ramayana is set to hit the theatres in two parts, with the first instalment scheduled to be released on Diwali 2026. However, Ramayana: Part 2 is slated for Diwali 2027 release.
