Meet 19-year-old Paramjeet Kaur, the village girl from Punjab turning grit into rhythm. Born with hearing in just one ear, Param found her voice in rap, raw, fearless, and unapologetically real. Her story isn’t about privilege or industry connections; it’s about courage meeting opportunity.

Param’s breakout moment came with her freestyle rap video that exploded online, earning 4.5 million views in just eight days.

Since then, her meteoric rise has only accelerated. A clip she shared on September 26 has crossed 21 million views, racking up over two million likes and tens of thousands of comments. Her Instagram account,

@paramsworld, has become a hub of energy and authenticity, each video pulsing with the kind of freshness the Indian rap scene has been missing.

What makes Param’s music hit different is her raw delivery and unfiltered lyrics. Influenced by Sidhu Moosewala, she channels her pain, pride, and purpose into verses that speak directly to young women and the working-class India she represents.

Her words aren’t polished for the mainstream, they’re honest, grounded, and full of bite.

Her fame reached new heights when Bollywood star Sushmita Sen shared one of Param’s BBC interview clips on her Instagram story, writing simply, “#wow.”

For a 19-year-old from a small village, that kind of recognition marked more than a viral moment, it was validation.

In her BBC interview, Param said, “My name is Paramjeet Kaur, but my name as an artist is Param. I didn’t choose rap, I didn’t even know I wanted to pursue it. When I was studying in college, my friends wrote and sang. I got inspired by them to try it. They liked my music and told me to continue. I don’t want much; I just want to support my family. I want to build a home where my parents can rest.”

Her mother, Jaspal Kaur, added, “I always wanted her to sing and make us proud. We had a lot of hopes from her, and God has granted our prayers.”

From a quiet village in Punjab to millions of listeners online, Paramjeet Kaur has turned her obstacles into verses, and her voice is only getting louder.
