Nayanthara and Trisha are getting less film offers

With Tollywood embracing a bunch of young actresses, a few seniors from the industry have been facing the drought of getting meaty roles to play in Telugu films. Actresses including Pooja Hegde, Rashi Khanna, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Rakul Preet Singh, Shruti Haasan and Keerthy Suresh are reportedly finding it tough to get big offers, especially with the top heroes in T-town currently. A few of them are featured in Telugu films, but not as the lead against top stars.

Sreeleela, Bhagyashree Borse, Rukmini Vasanth and Kayadu Lohar, meanwhile, have taken over signing back-to-back projects, which makes them the new favourites of the Telugu filmmakers.

Senior stars still in demand

While they’ve been complemented by an influx of new faces, several seasoned actresses are also staging major comebacks, with some not only still landing roles but also commanding massive paydays. In this pack, we have Trisha, Tamannaah Bhatia and Nayanthara, who are still being signed for big projects.

Trisha: Back with a bang

The gorgeous Trisha is back with a bang and is rejuvenated in her 'new' look. She is working in Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara and Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life. And if sources are to be believed, the talented actress has a few more Telugu films to sign as she’s in the final stage of discussions for at least two films. Her knack for reinvention has helped her stay fresh and command a higher fee.

Nayanthara's plan to get back to Tollywood

Blessed with strong roles in women-centric Tamil films, Nayanthara is now strategically paving her way for a re-entry into Tollywood. She's playing the leading lady in Chiranjeevi’s next – an Anil Ravipudi directorial. (sic). She has been brought on board to play the leading lady in Anil Ravipudi's upcoming entertainer starring Chiranjeevi.

Insiders say that Nayathara’s move to slash her remuneration has invited a flood of offers. She is currently going through a few Telugu scripts.

Tamannaah: Glamour and grit

Tamannaah Bhatia never shies away from doing something different in her career. She has since returned to the screen with a more glamorous image and has appeared in web series and Bollywood movies. Hot talk: Tamannaah busy bee Counting one’s chickens is not a good thing, as Tamannaah is making out after Odela 2.

The actress is known to experiment with bold roles, and by the looks of it, she is ready to shell out big money for such appearances. She is also likely to feature in at least 2-3 Telugu films over the next year.

Even though with the ongoing fresh faces and young heroines getting more opportunities, old guards such as Trisha, Nayanthara, and Tamannaah prove that experience and adaptability still have scope in Tollywood. As the environment evolves, the industry appears to be navigating a balance between youthful energy and seasoned star power.
