All eyes are on Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi - who will be seen playing the roles of Lord Ram and Sita maa on celluloid soon. Now the latests news is that the movie 'Ramayana' directed by Nitesh Tiwari is getting grander by the day.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the film has a whopping budged of Rs 835 crore.
A source told the website that the makers want Ramayan to be a visual treat for the cinegoers hence the budget it high. Its post production work will also take a minimum of 600 days.
"Ramayana is not just a film but an emotion and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a global spectacle. The USD 100 Million ( ₹835 crore) budget is just for Ramayana: Part One. He (Namit Malhotra) plans to expand this further as the franchise grows. The idea is to take the audience on a visual treat with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram," said the source.
"The film requires 600 days of post-production work, which in itself speaks volumes about the investment required to create some of the most original visuals on the spectacle," added the source.
Trade analyst Sumit Kadel had also tweeted that 'Ramayana' is going to release in 2027. Sumit tweeted: "Ramayana (Part 1) is eying October 2027 Release. #Ranbir Kapoor #Yash."
Ramayana stars Arun Govil as Raja Dashrath, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara.
Both Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi have already started shooting for the movie. A few photographs of the actors in their looks as Lord Ram and Sita had gone viral. The shot seemed to be from the days when Prince Ram met Sita maa. Fans got excited as it shows Ranbir in a very different look - adoring jewels, dhoti.
Earlier, Ranbir had also undergone training to learn archery for the role of Lord Ram. A video of him undergoing intense training for his role and lose all the fat was also shared.
Actor Ajinkya Deo also joined the movie, he had also shared a pic with Ranbir Kapoor. According to reports, Ajinkya will play the role of Vishwamitra, who was Lord Ram's mentor.
He had also shared a post on his Instagram: "So now for the clarification on this photo ... excited to be doing a stellar role in the film Ramayan a magnum opus with RK and it's been a wonderful year and half as I shared the screen first with Neetusingh Kapoor ma'am then with Karishma Kapoor for a web series and now with Ranbir Kapoor."
Earlier Arun Govil and Lara Dutta's pics from their shoot as Raja Dashrath and Rani Kaikeyi had also leaked.
Director Nitesh Tiwari had also put a no mobile on sets to avoid the leak of any photos from the set.
