Rishab Shetty, who became a household name with his Kannada blockbuster 'Kantara', is not just an acclaimed figure in Indian cinema but also a passionate advocate for regional art forms.

From a young age, Rishab Shetty was drawn to the traditional dance of Yakshagana, dreaming of showcasing the rich folklore of his region to a global audience.

'Kantara' not only fulfilled that dream but also propelled him to fame, celebrating the unique cultural heritage of South India through its captivating narrative and visuals.

Rishab mentioned, "I started performing Yakshagana when I was in the sixth standard. Since then, my dream was to bring our local folklore to the big screen for everyone to see."

He brought this dream to life in 'Kantara: The Legend,' a film that has amazed audiences globally. The movie includes a special dance, Varahroopam, from Yakshagana, and Rishab even performed it live at an event for Amazon Prime Video when they announced 'Kantara Chapter 1,' the prequel to 'Kantara.'

'Kantara: The Legend' was a massive hit, making people feel a connection to the divine. It showcases the Bhoota Kola folk culture from the Tulu community in South India. The film was loved by critics and audiences alike.

Celebrating 'Kantara's' success after 100 days in theaters, Rishab had announced the prequel, saying, "We are so grateful for the love and support for Kantara. With the blessings of the almighty Daiva, the film completed 100 days. Now, we're excited to announce the prequel, which will explore more of Kantara's rich history. We're currently researching and writing, so it's a bit early to share details."

Thanks to the great response, Hombale Films is working on 'Kantara: Chapter 1.' This next project will be even bigger and see Rishab not only acting but directing too. He's already started working on this eagerly awaited prequel.

Rishab Shetty, who took audiences on a memorable journey with 'Kantara: The Legend,' is now diving into creating 'Kantara: Chapter 1.' This shows his commitment to sharing the beautiful stories and culture of his region with the world.
