86-year-old actress Shubha Khote was among the early voters, choosing to cast her vote in person despite being eligible for home voting due to her age.

The veteran actress who was accompanied by a help spoke to the waiting media personnel outside the polling booth and said she voted for the right candidate thinking that the years that are left of her life are spent peacefully.

Veteran actress Shubha Khote, who is 86 year-old, was among the few voters and Bollywood actors who decided to cast their vote early.

Shubha Khote, who was known for her comic roles in many hit Hindi movies, said she was allowed to take home voting due to her age but instead she decided to come out and cast her vote.

When asked that Mumbai residents hardly come out to cast their vote, Shubha Khote said that is the reason I also walked to the polling booth so that we serve as an inspiration to others.

I want this that people should come and vote seeing us elderly people at the polling booth. And everyone gets inpisred and aakar vote karein," Shobha Khote told reporters.

"That's the reason I didn't take home voting but decided to come here and cast my vote."

Earlier, actors Akshay Kumar, Jahnvi Kapoor, Rajkumma Rao, Sanya Malhotra, Fahran Akhtar, his mother Honey Irani and sister Zoya Akhtar also reached early to cast their votes.

Rajkummar and Jahnvi were to travel to Benaras for the promotion of their movie 'Mr & Mrs Mahi' so they cast their votes and left.

Maharashtra will conduct polling in 13 Lok Sabha constituencies, including six in Mumbai, in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections on Monday (May 20). This marks the final polling process in the state, which has been conducted over five phases: April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20.

Mumbai North, Mumbai North-West, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai North-Central, Mumbai South-Central, Mumbai South, Thane, Kalyan, Palghar, Dhule, Dindori, Nashik and Bhiwandi are going to polls.

The main contest is between the Mahayuti comprising the Shiv Sena, BJP, and NCP, and the opposition alliance of the Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP (SP).
